About the event
Overview
The University of the Philippines Alumni in Victoria (UPAV) will be hosting a series of professional networking events in 2021-22. The first event will be under the auspices of the Philippines-Australia Committee on Education (PACE)Â in conjunction with their Education Week, which is part of the 75th Anniversary celebration of the diplomatic relations between Philippines and Australia and the long-standing academic partnerships between the two countries.
The first series is focused on ‘cultural adaptation’, which aims to provide an understanding of the stages of settlement and integration within Australian workplaces and communities. You will gain new insights into lived experiences from successful UP alumni who have established their careers in different fields.
Our panel speakers and the moderator will share their knowledge and lived experiences in Australian workplaces, particularly in an academic, business and engineering setting. We are also honoured to have Consul General Maria Lourdes Salcedo and Deputy Consul General Anthony Mandap, deliver their messages to the participants.
A breakout session about cultural adaptation will allow participants to interact amongst themselves and get to share their own experiences.
Audience
This session is suited to early career professionals, recently arrived Filipino migrants, those planning to go back to work after a career break, or thinking of switching careers, or re-starting their working life.
